Rick Riordan Presentation

I was lucky enough to be able to attend my first author presentation this month! I sat in on Rick Riordan's presentation and it was absolutely amazing!! Rick Riordan is the author of the Percy Jackson series, the House of Olympus series, and the Kane Chronicles. Rick Riordan talked about all of his series and of course about his new book, Mark Of Athena. It was a great experience and I look forward to going to many more! I read Hearts at Stake in less than a day. It was a short read, under 300 pages. This book is about a family of vampires who associate themselves with humans. The Drake family consists of seven boys and one girl. This one girl, Solange, is supposed to be the vampire queen. She gets kidnapped and one of her brothers and her best friend, Lucy, seek out to save her. This book was a fun read. If you are looking for something heavy I would not recommend this book for that. However, if you are looking for a cute, paranormal romance then this is something you should read. I was hardly ever bored while reading it and I was yearning for the sequel. Hope this helps :)

My name is Katlyn and I am 19 years old. I am studying to be a nurse and in my free time I like to hang out with my friends, ride four wheelers, do hair and makeup, and I LOVE to read. My favorite authors are Stephanie Meyer, Mari Mancusi, Lisa McMann, Kate Cann, Charlaine Harris, Sarah Dessen and Katherine Applegate.
